The Wiggle~Wave product is a plastic product created by the use of an injection molding system. There is two separate plastic pieces, a waver (waver) and a set of three interlocking pins (snappers) joined together by a short plastic tab. The interlocking snappers clip into the waver creating a stable union of the two pieces. When a strand of hair is placed between the waver and the snappers, it is molded into a wave and the hair can either have perming solution applied at this time or be left to dry and then styled.

• The product is faster for hairstylists to use, reducing by the length of time hairstylists require to apply a permanent wave by 20 to 60 percent.
• It allows hairstylists to retouch permanent waves as the hair grows out creating a new market for partial permanent waves similar to that of hair colouring root touch-ups.
• The quality of the wave generated by the product is better because the wave is uniform and a consistent result can be achieved by a number of different stylists.
• The hairstylist is allowed easy access to the full length of the hair shaft. As a result, varying amounts of chemical solution can be applied along the hair shaft.
• It creates a perfectly even wave down the entire length of hair regardless of hair length. This is ideally suited for long hair which is very difficult to wave using traditional methods.
